Add participants one at a time or import a list. Both work before and after publishing. Participants you add or import are approved automatically and appear in the roster as Not invited until you send invitations.
Both actions need at least one participant type. Import takes a CSV or Excel file of up to 4 MB and reads only the first sheet. After the event ends, adding and importing are closed.
1

Add one participant

In Participants, select Add participant. Choose the Participant type, enter the Name and Email, and select Add. Each email address can appear only once per event. In a published event, the Send invitations? dialog opens right away so you can invite the person now. Select Cancel to invite later.
2

Upload the file

Select Import. In Import participants, select Download template to get a CSV with the columns the event expects, including its profile fields. Drop your file on the upload area or select Select file, then select Next.
3

Map columns

Each File column gets a Maps to field, suggested from the column header. Name and Email are required. Set columns you don’t need to Don’t import. If no column maps to Participant type, choose a Default participant type for every row. Next stays disabled while a required field is unmapped or two columns point to the same field.
4

Review the counts

The summary shows Rows, New, Updates, Warnings, and Errors, and Rows with issues lists each problem by row. Rows with errors are skipped. Rows with warnings are imported, and the participant may show Needs correction in the roster.Under Existing participants, choose Skip to leave people who are already in the roster untouched, or Update to overwrite their participant type and answers with the file. Existing participants are matched by email address. Select Start import.
5

Let the import finish

The progress bar counts the rows processed. You can close the dialog: the import keeps running, and the roster refreshes on its own.The result reads Import complete, Completed with some failures, or Import failed, with the number of rows added, updated, and skipped. Select Download failed rows to get the rows that failed, then select Done.

Check the result

New participants show Not invited in the roster. The clock icon next to Import opens Import history, where each import keeps its status (In progress, Completed, Partial, or Failed) and the failed rows download.

Troubleshooting

Save the file as .csv or .xlsx. Files over 4 MB are also rejected, so split a long list and import it in parts. In an Excel file, only the first sheet is read; move your data there.
A column for Name or Email is missing or set to Don’t import. Headers the wizard doesn’t recognize default to Don’t import, so check each row of the mapping table. Starting from the template avoids this.
Update changes profile data only. Participants who were Pending approval or Rejected stay that way and are left out of invitations. Approve them in the roster if they should attend.
The file couldn’t be processed as a whole. Try again, and if it keeps failing, contact support at the address shown in the result.
