# FAQ

> Short answers to the questions participants ask most, from sign-in codes and approval to meeting requests, locations, emails, and switching events.

<AccordionGroup>
<Accordion title="The code didn't arrive">
Check your spam folder first. Select **Resend code** once the 60-second wait
is over, and the new code replaces the previous one. See [Join an
event](/participant/join).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Why does the invitation say I'm signed in with a different email?">
The invitation belongs to an address other than the one you're signed in
with. Select **Sign out**, open the invitation link again, and sign in with
the invited address. See [Join an event](/participant/join).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Registration is closed or the event has ended. What can I still do?">
**Registration is closed** means the event takes no new registrations, and
after **This event has ended** invitations can't be accepted either.
Participants who already joined can still sign in, see their remaining
meetings, and message others. Contact the host about your registration, and
see [Join an event](/participant/join) for the sign-in steps.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What happens while my registration is awaiting approval?">
**Awaiting approval** means the host reviews registrations first, and you
get an email once you're approved. Complete your profile in the meantime
with **Edit profile**. See [Join an event](/participant/join) and
[Profile](/participant/profile).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Why does the event page say I can't join this event?">
**You can't join this event** means the host didn't approve your
registration. Contact the host if you think this is a mistake. See [Join an
event](/participant/join).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Why can't I see someone in the participant list?">
**Participants** lists approved participants whose participant type your
type is allowed to see, and only those who have entered unless the host
chose to list them earlier. The host sets both rules, so ask the host if you
can't find someone. See [Participants](/participant/directory).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Why can't I request a meeting with someone?">
**Request meeting** appears in events with meetings while requests are open,
and it becomes a disabled **Awaiting reply** while a request between you is
pending. Otherwise the line above the buttons names the reason: **The host
is arranging meetings** clears once the host finishes, **Meeting requests
unavailable** means your participant type can't request theirs, and
**Meeting requests closed** means the request period has ended. When you or
the other participant have reached the meeting limit, the request panel says
so in place of the times. See [Participants](/participant/directory) and
[Request a meeting](/participant/request-meeting).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Why are no time slots offered?">
A time is offered only when it falls inside the host's meeting hours, when
both of you are available, when it's far enough ahead for the host's minimum
notice, when neither of you has a confirmed meeting then, and, in events
with meeting locations, when a location is free. **No available times**
means nothing fits that date, so try another date and check your own
**Availability**. See [Request a meeting](/participant/request-meeting) and
[Availability](/participant/availability).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What does the "Expires in" chip mean, and why did my request expire?">
An unanswered request expires after the period the host set, or at the
requested time if that comes first. The recipient's card counts down the
time left, shows **Expiring soon** in the last hour, and an expired request
moves to **Past** as **Expired**. You can send a new request afterwards. See
[Meetings](/participant/meetings).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Why does my meeting show no location?">
No meeting location has been assigned yet. On the event dates the card shows
the event venue instead, and outside them, or in an event without a venue,
the location line stays empty until the host assigns one, which also sends
you an email. Ask the host where to meet, or arrange it with the other
participant in **Messages**. See [Meetings](/participant/meetings) and [My
schedule](/participant/schedule).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The host arranged a meeting for me. Can I cancel it?">
Meetings marked **Arranged by host** are scheduled by the host, so contact
the host about any change or cancellation. **Cancel meeting** belongs to
meetings you confirmed with another participant and stays until the
meeting's end time. See [Meetings](/participant/meetings).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="How do I stop or restart emails from an event?">
Open **Email notifications** in the account menu, where the **Meetings** and
**Announcements** switches save as soon as you change them. The unsubscribe
link at the bottom of announcement and invitation emails turns off
**Announcements** only, so turn off **Meetings** here to stop meeting
emails, and registration emails are always sent. To get announcements again,
turn **Announcements** back on. See [Email
notifications](/participant/notifications).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="How do I switch to another event or change the language?">
**My events** in the account menu lists every event you've joined or applied
to, and each card opens that event's page without another code, because one
sign-in covers them all. **Language** in the same menu switches between
English, Korean, and Japanese, saves the choice to your account, and emails
from events follow it. On **My events** itself, the language switch is in
the page footer. See [My events](/participant/my-events).
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Who do I ask about my registration, approval, or where to meet?">
The host decides registration, approval, participant type rules, meeting
hours, and locations, so questions about the event go to the host. The event
page carries a **Contact the host** link when the host has set up a contact.
For how the event page itself works, start with [Join an
event](/participant/join) and the other pages in this guide.
